BLOG POST BY THERESE ROTSCHNE

The Rétromobile 2025 in Paris set new standards in the world of classic car fairs with its 49th edition from February 5 to 9, 2025.
With An impressive 146,000 visitors set a new record, which impressively demonstrates the ongoing fascination for classic automobiles.
A central highlight of the trade fair was the 70th anniversary of the legendary Citroën DS . Particularly impressive was the replica of the historic advertising motif from 1959, in which a DS floats on four large orange balls - a symbol of the exceptional driving comfort thanks to the hydropneumatic suspension.

PERSONAL IMPRESSIONS
The Rétromobile is much more than an ordinary trade fair. It is like an elegant salon in which every exhibitor strives to offer a unique experience. The organization was first-class, press access offers advantages, but regular visitors can also get a close look at all the classics with a little patience. There was a noticeable spirit of optimism and the audience was much younger than expected.
The market for classic cars was dynamic : while prices have partially normalized, vehicles such as a Ferrari 365 GT4 BB were still offered for 800,000 euros.
The fair represented the world market , with major dealers from Europe and overseas, and focused on vehicles from the 60s, 70s and 80s.
A paradise for automobilia lovers: the density of high-quality accessories and vintage posters was overwhelming, and despite some astronomical prices, many items found their buyers.
In fact, it is only when you look through the pictures that you realize what rarities you can admire here:
Be it the Bugatti in signature blue, Ferrari 500 TRC, Ferrari 250 LM or historic Formula 1 cars, lined up like Fiat Pandas. That reminds me – this one was perhaps a little underrepresented ;)
MY HIGHLIGHTS
Ferrari 275 GTB: My dream car in light blue metallic.
Fiat Desiree: A rare model that I previously only knew from books.
Desiree was auctioned at Artcurial for just over 100,000 euros.
Suberfactory model makers: Incredibly detailed and beautifully crafted models – true works of art.
Formula 1 exhibition: An impressive presentation of the development.
PHOTOGRAPHY & VISITOR TIPS
The show offered excellent opportunities for photographers, as many exhibits were designed to be presented without visitor access, allowing for uninterrupted shooting. Press access is beneficial, but with patience, all other visitors can also achieve their photographic goals.
Thanks to several entrances, access was easy even during peak times, and the overall organization was exemplary.
Buying tickets in advance is recommended.
SUMMARY
Overall, this salon gives us an optimistic view of the future of the classic car scene:
Interest remains unbroken, and younger generations are also showing great commitment.
There is something for everyone – from clubs and dealers to exclusive vehicles and automotive art.
